What is The Spirit Parlour?

The Spirit Parlour is run by Scott (assisted by Rebecca). We offer a website ( blog, online shop, articles and free events listing) for all matters vaguely related to the spiritual or paranormal! The Spirit Parlour also runs evenings of "Searching for Spirit" (We do struggle with the idea of "hunting" for anything...whichever side of life!).  We hope to offer workshops in the near future and will also be organising demonstrations of mediumship.  Scott and Rebecca are available for private investigations on a donation basis for those in need.  We believe that everyone has the right to ask questions and be respected whatever they believe and wherever they are on their personal life journey.

I am intrigued by the idea of the "afterlife" but do not know where to start - what do you suggest?

Obviously, we would encourage you to join our mailing list or e-mail us if you have more personal questions - Rebecca read every book going before she had the courage to attend an evening of mediumship (and then it was several months before she actually spoke to anyone)!  And frankly, now we spend almost as much time thinking about the next life as we do this one!  Please don't think that it is all like "Most Haunted" - the spirit world is (we are firmly led to believe) a comforting and pain free place and most communication (or evidence) comes through in a loving and uplifting way!  That is not to say that you shouldn't be sensible - just as in this world you wouldn't hang around dark and lonely places, shouting abuse at dubious characters lurking in the shadows, bating them - so, we suggest, you should only seek out those in the spirit world who are life affirming, safe and loving!  The rules are the same there as they are here - common sense and a bit of self awareness are your two best friends.  It's like if you are looking for a medium or tarot reader (or anyone purporting to help or guide you really), don't take advice or give money to anyone you wouldn't happily sit and have a cuppa with, out of choice - if you find someone you genuninely trust and warm to, surely your nearest and dearest are much more likely to want to come through the ether to join you both!  

Beyond and above everything, please know you have the right to make up your own mind as to what you do or don't believe!  We have come across many who claim to be "expert" but leave you feeling ignorant and hollow and many who humbly claim little but touch your life profoundly.  Your journey of discovery is valid and important and you should feel free to enjoy it in your own unique way!  

Keep an eye on the forum because we are going to try and build on this guidance there as the website develops!

What happens on an evening of GhostHunting with The Spirit Parlour?

We are as passionate about history as we are about the Spirit World so we always aim to connect in a very meaningful way with the location we are investigating!  We also try to make evenings fun, uplifting and therefore try to book only locations that are full of positive, peaceful energies.  We start the evening with Scott who talks us through techniques (from the hi-tech to more intuitive, "psychic" methods) and we always have a tour with the lights on!  We usually break into smaller groups and then..the lights go out!  We use our senses and equipment to interact with any spiritual activity and try to encourage any past residents to join us and tell us their tales!  We never fake or hype so if the spirits stand us up, then that's the way it goes!  We finish the evening with some victorian table tipping / scrying / pendulum work etc.  Hot drinks and choccy biscuits are included!  If you have any questions, we are always happy to talk to you and we really don't mind holding your hand in the dark!
